Validity, a jQuery plugin for powerful, accurate client-side form validation.
If you’re needing a decent client side validator, give this one a shot.
“Fun” is a tricky word. People think that if you’re having “fun”, you’re ignoring content, or you’re ignoring the importance of the piece. But that’s not true. ∼Carin Goldberg

Great site for browsing book covers and the designers that designed them.

I came across this neat site the other day when needing cover images for my previous book wish list entry. The site allows you to browse and search for book and comic book covers and even save them to an account and create collections, or buy the book on eBay.
It’s been way too long since I’ve read any good books. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a number that I wish to read soon, however. Here’s what I have on my current wish list.
The Culture Code: An Ingenious Way to Understand Why People Around the World Live and Buy as They Do by Clotaire Rapaille (Paperback – July 17, 2007)
Web Form Design: Filling in the Blanks by Luke Wroblewski (Paperback – Dec. 2008)
Designing Design by Kenya Hara (Hardcover – July 23, 2007)
Designing for People by Henry Dreyfuss (Paperback – Nov. 1, 2003)
Design Is the Problem: The Future of Design Must be Sustainable by Nathan Shedroff and Hunter Lovins (Paperback – 2009)
Designers Don’t Read by Austin Howe and Fredrik Averin (Paperback – Sept. 22, 2009)
Design Disasters: Great Designers, Fabulous Failure, and Lessons Learned by Steven Heller (Paperback – Oct. 28, 2008)If you have any opinions on any of these listed, feel free to let me know.
Cheers,
D

I ran across this great little read from H&FJ on effectively combining fonts. As for me, I’m always looking for techniques and processes for achieving and accomplishing design goals. Effective typography is a real art so designing from the hip can be risky and dangerous. I hope you find these techniques as useful as I have.
Cheers!
I’ve always been a big t-shirt fan, from my high school days wearing my favorite concert T, to my boat load of graphic T’s from Urban Outfitters. However, there seems to be a drought lately, at least in my opinion, of good sources of graphic T’s.
Well, I ran across the following site and must say they have the coolest t-shirts around.
Go and check out the T’s, or better yet, buy a few, from Design by Humans. You won’t be disappointed.
Oh, and if you have any sources of your own, please don’t hesitate to share!
I loved Legos as a kid and anxiously await my two your old son’s introduction to them as well (maybe more for my enjoyment than his).
Regardless I will certainly be buying him the following sets when he’s ready.
So who doesn’t love Moleskine and good design?
Well, here’s the best of both worlds. Here the scoop straight from the horse’s mouth…
“This exclusive two-volume set showcases groundbreaking visual media and design from winners of the 2008 ADC Young Guns competition, plus the finalists of The Undiscovered Letter, a creative challenge envisioning the 27th letter of the alphabet.”
I’m about to purchase my set right now!
